Public bug reported:
I have an an "Aiptek Minicam", which is recognized as a "Sunplus
Technology Co., Ltd SPCA504a Digital Camera". It worked perfectly
together with cheese, ekiga, ... but since intrepid, no /dev/video is
created, although the right modules are loaded. (At least, I guess, they
are the right modules...)
#lsmod|grep gspca
gspca_sunplus 27136 0
gspca_main 34432 1 gspca_sunplus
compat_ioctl32 18304 1 gspca_main
videodev 45184 2 gspca_main,compat_ioctl32
Same problem in karmic beta1, so no bugfix in further kernel-versions.
More information in bug #255678. My problem also sounds quite similar to bug
#292379, although a different kernel-module is involved.
Greetings!
