Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

So, 2.6.31 has horrible ppp regression, which makes it unusable for
everyone using PPP (for example, in Russia most ethernet providers use
VPN connections to share internet: pptp, pppoe, l2tp). Massive PPP
regressions decrease traffic speed through it in 6 times with the
comparison to 2.6.30. And I want to use 2.6.30, which hasn't these
terrible issues. But it's no sound there: alsa sees soundcards, but
pulse doesn't. Removing pulseaudio doesn't help. What can I do with it?
