Had this myself...I only noticed when I was getting error messages telling me that my HDD was full (over 300GB!) and found the repeated lines in both user.log and syslog:
Oct 3 00:06:18 Venus HP-PSC-2500: prnt/hpijs/services.cpp 386: unable to write to output, fd=1, count=4096: Broken pipe Oct 3 00:06:18 Venus HP-PSC-2500: prnt/hpijs/services.cpp 386: unable to write to output, fd=1, count=4096: Broken pipe Oct 3 00:06:18 Venus HP-PSC-2500: prnt/hpijs/services.cpp 386: unable to write to output, fd=1, count=4096: Broken pipe Oct 3 00:06:18 Venus HP-PSC-2500: prnt/hpijs/services.cpp 386: unable to write to output, fd=1, count=4096: Broken pipe Oct 3 00:06:18 Venus HP-PSC-2500: prnt/hpijs/services.cpp 386: unable to write to output, fd=1, count=4096: Broken pipe and so on. This only happens if I'm printing something and I don't switch on the printer (in my case I forgot about it until my disk got full). -- cups on karmic hammering system and syslog on printing error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407971 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
