xorg.conf, nothing special:

Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Default Screen"
        DefaultDepth 24
EndSection

Section "Module"
        Load "glx"
EndSection

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Default Device"
        Driver "nvidia"
EndSection

Come to think of it, I don't think I wrote that, so something in Ubuntu
must have. In any event, it's bog standard aside from the fact of
specifying the appropriate driver for my video card.

As for Xorg's log file, erum what would you need from there? The bug I
am reporting is *after* GDM login, so X ['s log file] is no longer
terribly relevent. I glanced through it anyway, and there was nothing
overly significant.
