This bug was also reported in ubuntu as #326032, and I can confirm that
it affects me too.  I think the problem specifically seems to be with
font names including a numeric character, immediately followed by a
letter.  For example, the following fonts cannot be selected in ubuntu:
"Gyneric 3D", "Binary 01s BRK", "Binary X 01s BRK" (all from the ttf-
aenigma package)
