Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
Kernel Oops occurs 60 seconds after logon to GDM. Monitoring via 'tops' run in a terminal, this seems to coincide with update-manager loading automatically under the list of programs in System->Preferences->Startup Applications. The workaround is to untick Update Notifier in Startup Applications and use update manager manually. The oops then disappears. I have attached the detail from kern.log re. the oops that occurs This may be related to bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/422536.
