Just using analytical troubleshooting logic it should not be anything that MS did, or MS file protection. Because when I go back to the 9.04 Live CD, Kubuntu still reads the Windows files in this version. Now it may be possible that it is a proprietary code issue, that Kubuntu or Linux kernel removed some proprietary code from the file that has this function. I don't know if there was also a kernel version shift with the 9.10, KDE4.3.3 upgrade.

Now I wonder which driver should be used=> any advise here how to check the driver used in a 9.04 version is much apprechiated. My HDD is at a raid controller alone and only 1 HDD is used with some partions and 3 OS 1.XP SP3 testing & maintained 2. Windows 7 beta testing & maintained 4.Ubuntu 9.04 using & maintained Thie System9.04 is running still stable The question is if something not available =>correct driver? Is the way to check this under 9.04 to find the settings currently used for raid and HDD? I hope I do not have the same issue regarding Windows HDD when the disk cannot read from the disk because of file protection from MS. To be sure I hope someone can help regarding my query. It would allow me further testing.
