OK, I have tried backing up and now I have installed the beta on a clean
HDD from the liveCD.  Now I don't even get the grub2 menu.  When I boot,
it just says "GRUB_" in the upper left with a blinking cursor and does
not go anywhere beyond that.  Here is my grub.cfg:
