Unfortunately, hibernate does still not work.

Could this be connected to a swap space problem? I have 4GiB of RAM, and
2x 2GiB of swap space on /dev/sda4 and /dev/sdb4. For some reason, sda4
is not mounted during startup. The first hibernate in this log was done
with only 2GiB of swap mounted, and during hibernation I saw some "PHY
.. ohci1394..." errors on the screen. The second hibernation was done
after manually issuing a "sudo swapon -a" with 4GiB of swap space, and
without any messages during hibernation.
