Well, after rebooting again, I have some additional info: fsck says /dev/sda5 (system partition) is clean. That's the last message. However, is says nothing about /dev/sda7, which is my home partition. So, the boot process stops between those checks from fsck. (Because the home partition is also checked at that point?)
I have the Ubuntu Boot ppa enabled (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu- boot/+archive/ppa). However, using a chroot I have checked that none of the 7 packages from boot ppa are installed (some packages are installed, but the version supplied by the standard repositories are newer). -- Karmic does not boot to login screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443059 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
