I totally agree. I had the same issue today.
While I understand the case for apport bug reporting, I don't like the
fact that I cannot submit a bug via the normal way. When you're not
running Ubuntu at that moment it is hard to use the ubuntu-bug script.
Put a huge banner on one entry point in Launchpad to promote ubuntu-bug,
but leave the report a bug button as is, to report a bug.
