Thanks for your report. Do you get the (initramfs) prompt? Can you try the 
following:
1. Boot with the "break" boot option 
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions)
2. When you get the prompt (maybe you have to press Enter to see it) enter:
 dmraid -ay
 exit

If this works, try it again, but this time do not enter "dmraid -ay",
just wait a couple of seconds before typing "exit".
