I am having the same problem. As I type this comment, the spacing between consecutive non-blank characters is normal but as I press the space bar, my cursor jumps 3 characters as if I had pressed the tab key instead. Also, in all text including all the text on this page there appears to be three spaces in between each word including single character words like a or 1 followed by a space.
As a result most web pages are all but impossible to read without considerable more effort. I would go as far as to say that it has made Firefox unusable.
