Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: pulseaudio
1)
eve[~]% lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release: 9.10
2)
eve[~]% apt-cache policy pulseaudio
pulseaudio:
Installed: 1:0.9.18-0ubuntu3
Candidate: 1:0.9.18-0ubuntu3
Version table:
*** 1:0.9.18-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://uk.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
3)
No output to appear from the pulseaudio daemon
4)
I use logcheck to get a handle on the output emanating from my system.
Lately, with the upgrade to Karmic 9.10 Beta, I have been seeing lots
of:
Oct 6 16:02:31 eve pulseaudio[5899]: ratelimit.c: 126 events suppressed
Oct 6 16:02:45 eve pulseaudio[5899]: ratelimit.c: 129 events suppressed
Whatever pulseaudio is doing that causes that:
- what makes it thinks that if it retries the problem will go away?
- why isn't ratelimit coalascing the many messages?
- what exactly is being surpressed?
- is it a problem?
- how can it be fixed?
Thanks,
Anand
