To get the scanner working again the following comment has to be added
to /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04b8", ATTRS{idProduct}=="012d", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
# Epson V100 | Epson V100
After rebootinmg the scanner works as expected with xsane and iscan as
user not root priviliges needed.
