same problem affecting acer aspire 6530 and 6530G sound card is alc888 external mic works with "options snd-hda-intel model=acer" in alsa-base.conf I believe this can be fixed in a similar way to " https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/332506 " but I am not sure Thanks for the hard work.
