Well, sadly, after reboot, the / filesystem would only mount read only. The system is now sitting at terminal until I can come up with a way to mount the filesystem, alter my source.list file (which does not show the PPA I added to use your mountall.deb), and reinstall the good, but broken mountall, so that I can get back to the desktop. I only have a alternative disk. I think I'll download the regular beta disk, chroot in and see if I can get this mountall off the system.
