Maybe this is a stupid comment but the "sudo mountall --debug > mountall.log 2>&1" doesn't return. Or is that supposed to be the case?
Ernst my machine is working fine also... It only hangs when fsck is forced on my / (/dev/sda5 ext3). If I reset the machine after that it boots just fine. So the only problem is that it hangs every 30 boots or so and /dev/sda5 never actually gets checked. As I get the impression that the mountall ppa hosed Ernst's machine, I am a little bit hesitant to install.....
