Binary package hint: evolution
This bug is similar to 374703, but I believe slightly different.
In my situation, using a POP e-mail system, I never used to be prompted
for my password for either of 2 accounts that I have Evolution 2.22.3.1
check. During the last two days, I have been prompted to enter my
password for both these accounts, even though the Remember Password box
is checked AND several large dots (one for each character in my
passwords) appear pre-filled in the prompt box. If I either re-enter my
password OR simply press enter without re-entering my password,
Evolution will successfully retrieve new e-mail. I only enter a
password if the box pops up while I am typing in another application and
the previously entered and hidden password is wiped out by my typing.
This seems to happen every time Evolution looks for new mail, and though
I've been using Evolution since installing this version of ubuntu, (8.04
Hardy Heron with ALL updates offered. I first noticed this 2 days ago
when I had left evolution running over night. I thought that perhaps my
ISP had changed my IP address or something and simply restarted
evolution. After restarting, evolution prompted every time it tried to
check for mail. I rebooted my machine and that had no effect.
