Public bug reported:

Since 0.6.11 avahi is not startable by default. This could be meant nice
but the normal user doesn't know where to put a '1' instead of a '0' to
enable starting of avahi.

I'd say while there is no gui under System->Administration->"Service Discovery"
to enable or disable avahi-daemon the default should be to
enable it because normal user installs it and wants it to work not to hack the
system on console.

So there is no other way to enable it no dpkg-reconfigure no other gui
no simple command. And so we propose super features and nobody can use
it without hazzle.

** Affects: avahi-daemon (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed

** Changed in: cupsys (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: cupsys => avahi-daemon
