Public bug reported:

I usually lower the brightness of the laptop screen via key-combination, which
works fine (although there is no brightness information within gnome, like for
sound). I also set the system to automatically dim the display when the system
is idle.
This all basically works, but every now and then (usually only once some time
after a restart) the system jumps to full brightness after being idle for a
moment. I then have to manually bring the brightness down again.
Especially when working in a dark environment, these sudden birghtness changes
are quite nasty.
I do not know which package is responsible for this, so I'm assigning it to
meta-gnome2.
