Ok, I nice gentleman in the Ubuntu+1 channel on freenode has fixed this
issue for me, hopefully this helps everyone else:
00:54 <ghendar> comment out the line "options snd-hda-intel power_save=10" in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf it should be at the end of the
file
I rebooted, when I came back, it was mint! Thanks a lot!
