looking at the error in the duplicates dmesg it does look identical to the error I had on my acer. from my understanding the fix tht was implemented was essentially a model number check. as I mentioned acer makes and produces newer gateways. it would not surprise me if they had similar lines with comparable model/part numbers. it may just be that the fix needs to be expanded to include or exclude a few gateway models.
