Thanks for your response, I think you misunderstood my report though (I
noticed bug 397504 too, as that issue bothered me as well). The issue
here is that when *someone else* sends *you* a private IRC message, a
new conversation tab should automatically open for that person
containing the message. Empathy displays a floating notification
containing the private message, but doesn't open a new conversation tab.
