Hi JFMurphy,
Examining your DpkgTerminalLog.txt I see the following:
expr: non-numeric argument
User postinst hook script [/sbin/update-grub] exited with value 2
This seems to indicate this is really an issue in grub and actually a
duplicate of bug 193439. Marking it as such. Please continue to track
this issue at that report. Thanks.
