** Description changed: Xubuntu since 6.06 (I believe..) Graphics performance was never excellent, but o.k. With 9.04 graphics performance is *poor*. Scrolling in Ooo-Files or PDF's is so slow that I can see the single scrolling steps. Switching desks is *slow* and hangs some times. glxinfo | grep render direct rendering: Yes OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Radeon 20061018 AGP 4x x86/MMX/SSE2 CPU usage is always down to almost 0%, so there are no processes slowing the system down, as far as I can see. On scrolling / desk-switching it jumps up to 100%. Compositor is off. I am unsure if it is the same issue as reported with the INTEL-chips. By the way: all information in xorg.conf has gone to some unspecified location. Why not leave a note there like it was done in httpd.conf when everything moved to apache2.conf? + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation 82845 845 [Brookdale] Chipset Host Bridge [8086:1a30] (rev 04) + Subsystem: Compaq Computer Corporation Device [0e11:004a] + 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500] [1002:4c57] + Subsystem: Compaq Computer Corporation Device [0e11:004a]
