** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau If I have 2 monitors plugged in during boot (in this case, my laptop screen and a DVI screen), the console boot phase works great, then when X starts, it seems to crash, then restart, and continuously restart with no way to stop it (even unplugging the 2nd monitor at this point does nothing). With only the 1 monitor plugged in at boot (the laptop screen), X starts fine. I can then plug in the 2nd monitor, and use the display applet to enable it, and all is good. I'm using Ubuntu Karmic on amd64. xserver-xorg-video-nouveau is Version: 1:0.0.10~git+20090823+569a17a- 0ubuntu1 + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a00] (rev 0c) + Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:20b1] + 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation Quadro FX 570M [10de:040c] (rev a1) + Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:20d9]
