Do not know if this is a same problem: I am not able to save password in system-wide pptp connection, field remains blank. NM does not ask for password when connecting, and there is an error in syslog: nm_vpn_connection_connect_cb(): VPN connection 'VPN1' failed to connect: 'No VPN secrets!'
user-level connection works fine.
