I've checked the issue with Karmic-beta Live-CD. The problem seems to be fixed.
I've used an Anycom USB-500 Bluetooth 2.1 Dongle and a Bluetooth Mouse on an ASUS EeePC 900A. Therefore I was not able to check file transfer. But pairing was no problem at all after booting into the live environment. Chipset: Broadcom BCM2046B1 BT-Device: 0a5c:2157 Broadcom Corp.
