Public bug reported:
After upgrading to Dapper my eth0 did not come back up on reboot. After
some research, I found that I needed to make /etc/iftab have the
physical MAC of the installed card (I had previously restored this
machine from a backup, so the MAC in iftab did not match the physical
address). I don't think this is a bug.
However, there were no errors reported in /var/syslog, dmesg, or printed
to the terminal which made the debugging significantly more difficult. I
believe this is a bug of sorts.
