Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: yelp
Release: Ubuntu 9.04
Steps to recreate:
1. Set the Login Ready sound to a .wav clip that lasts long enough to continue
to play as the desktop starts up. Mine was 26 seconds.
2. Once the desktop is loaded, attempt to play any sound or music file and
observe that there is no audible playback.
Expected Result:
1. For Step 1, the Login Ready sound should continue to play while the desktop
starts up.
2. For Step 2, one would expect to have audible playback of sounds or music.
Actual Result:
1. The result of Step 1 is as expected. The Login Ready sound continues to play.
2. The result of Step 2 is that there is no audible playback from any music or
sound file in any device.
Additional Notes:
Changing the Login Ready sound back to the default (or to clip of similar
length) and re-logging in corrects the issue and sounds work normally again.
