Definitely something wrong. hdparm -B 254 is being set all the time, but never the -B 128 which would happen if AC was disconnected. Can you please file a new bug, since that is a separate issue? Attach your /var/log/daemon there, unless "ubuntu-bug acpid" does it for you.
