So the 22 second Karmic boot time is also invalid because it wasn't
measuring GDM startup?
I did the equivalent comparison for Jaunty as you suggested, and got a
boot time of just over 60 seconds (see attached).
Most of my Karmic bootcharts show disk and CPU activity well into the
80-90 s mark, whereas this Jaunty log seems to be mostly done by 60
seconds, and so Karmic is slower but not by as much as I originally
thought - more like 30-50% slower to boot than Jaunty. Is that a fair
statement?
