Note: I don't think this is an upstream bug, because it affects both
Chromium and Firefox.
Recently, I've had many problems with the Ctrl + Page Up shortcut for
cycling through tabs. I hit Ctrl + Page Up and nothing happens. I've
tried changing the focus to the location bar, parts of the page,
textareas within the page, etc and Ctrl + Page Up just doesn't work.
However, if I restart the browser or turn on the computer the next day,
I usually don't face the same problem. This doesn't happen in any
noticeable pattern. It's pretty random. It just happens sometimes and
doesn't at other times.
I have never had the same problem with Ctrl + Page Down. In fact, when
Ctrl + Page Up fails and I have only a few tabs open, I resort to using
Ctrl + Page Down...
Somehow, I don't think this is upstream....
