Thanks, downloading the alternate cd now... FYI, in case it is helpfull, my system is based around a Shuttle SB62G2, with the onboard video dissabled (using a GeForce MX4400 AGP), and an additional Marvel based wireless nic.
I have all 3 network interfaces enabled. at home I use one nic, away I use the other nic, at work i use wireless... works out well for network settings. I'd been using XP Pro for a few years, I recently migrated a few of my other machines, as well as a couple clients to Ubuntu, and was really happy with it, save for some PPP issues in 6.10 release. Finally decided to give it a shot on my main desktop. Still going to have to have vmware + xp setup, for some work software, but overall really impressed with the progress.... I usually test a few distros about once every year or so, for the past decade, and this is the first time I've attempted to move my personal desktop to linux. -- Michael J.
