Thanks for this great solution. I stumbled on this solution after filing another bug here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/448825
Now, my screen loads to normal and I have all my 'Extra' compiz effects back. However, I may not close the bug until THIS NEW ISSUE of WLAN is fixed. I guess the 'etc/modprobe.d/dkms.conf' in my own cause [according to instructions in: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/KernelModeSetting/] is affecting my wlan from loading... I'll try and look into this. Just to confirm, the work around works, but I can only connect using LAN for now. -- [xorg-edgers] Video driver error: No kernel modesetting driver detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/447181 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
