This isn't a bug at all.
By default wubi installs the highest rated os for your system. In this
case the os that will utilise you system to the fullest is the AMD64 bit
version.
It is only called amd64bit but it is viable for pretty much any 64bit
system in the came way the i(Intel)386 is for 32bit chips on amd
machines.
