We have fixed the "error message" part of this problem, which has
already been committed to our VCS repositories. I have no ETA on when it
will be released, however.
To max and Tobias (and others experiencing similar problems):
Please try to see if the solution in Bug 445376 works for you; also,
please post your results at the bug instead of this one.
