Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: ttf-arphic-uming
There are many font installed by default but only a few are actually
used.
The xfonts-base package compresses all the pcf files by using the gzip
method.
Why not compressing the ttc file of this package ?
Here is a comparaison with the gzipped version:
-----
j...@j-laptop:~$ du -h /usr/share/fonts/truetype/arphic/uming.ttc
21M /usr/share/fonts/truetype/arphic/uming.ttc
j...@j-laptop:~$ gzip --best -c /usr/share/fonts/truetype/arphic/uming.ttc >
uming.ttc.gz
j...@j-laptop:~$ du -h uming.ttc.gz
9,8M uming.ttc.gz
j...@j-laptop:~$
