Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: ttf-indic-fonts
There are many fonts installed by default but only a few are actually
used.
The xfonts-base package compresses all the pcf files by using the gzip
method.
Why not compressing the ttf files of this package ?
Here is a comparaison with the gzipped version:
-----
j...@j-laptop:~$ du -h
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-indic-fonts-core/Rachana_04.ttf
380K /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-indic-fonts-core/Rachana_04.ttf
j...@j-laptop:~$ gzip --best -c
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-indic-fonts-core/Rachana_04.ttf >
Rachana_04.ttf.gz
j...@j-laptop:~$ du -h Rachana_04.ttf.gz
160K Rachana_04.ttf.gz
j...@j-laptop:~$
