acpi-support 0.128 in karmic now has a fixed asus-touchpad.sh script
that correctly implements toggling of the synaptics touchpad. Does this
fix the problem for you? It's easy to make sure we have this working
for karmic, but we need your input because we don't have access to the
hardware in question.
