Appears that /var/lib/dpkg/info/ibus-qt4.* files are zero bytes and were
corrupted during the hard-lock:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2009-08-24 12:19 ibus-qt4.md5sums
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2009-08-24 12:19 ibus-qt4.postinst
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 2009-08-24 12:19 ibus-qt4.postrm
Fixed by renaming the zero byte files and then
sudo apt-get remove ibus-qt4
sudo apt-get install ibus-qt4
