I was able to get a test email to work. I don't know everything about my server details but I'll post more as I find out more information. Here's what I know.
I was not able to send email messages to lists or email aliases. For example we have a email address called people that is a distribution list. But when I used the full email address <firstname>.<lastname>@<mydomain>.com it worked. Perhaps this problem is only for aliases and distribution lists.
