Public bug reported:

i updated my karmic and then the computer forced logged out and crashed
so i restarted my karmic then gdm was strange and said that the there
was a problem this the update so i went to the console(nongui) and
reupdated my machine and the it seems as everythings fixed it self but
there was still update error
