You said that the key works great: Does it actually turn off the sound? Is that reflected in the mixer, and do you get a notification bubble for it? If so, then the key is already fully working.
However, your kernel complains about an unknown key. I can fix the key to be recognized as "mute" key. Please download attached file and copy it with sudo cp 95-keymap.rules /lib/udev/rules.d/ Then reboot, and verify that the kernel does not complain about the missing keys any more. Do you get any different behavior with the mute key (except for the LED)? However, I have no idea how to drive the LED. ** Attachment added: "updated /lib/udev/rules.d/95-keymap.rules" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/33596837/95-keymap.rules ** Changed in: udev (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC speaker LED doesn't change from white to red when muted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/441979 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
