I just tried an upgrade from a customized 0.5.2 to 0.5.3 to see what would happen. The following user-modifiable config files are updated in 0.5.3: /etc/LCDd.conf /etc/lcdexec.conf /etc/lcdproc.conf /etc/lcdvc.conf
Of those, lcdproc and lcdvc changes are inconsequential (comments only). The changes to LCDd.conf look to be completely backwards compatible, so an upgrader can use their old LCDd.conf file without any problems. If they want to use one of the newly supported devices they should choose the new config file. The changes to lcdexec.conf are more substantial. An old lcdexec.conf file should work fine with the new lcdexec. However, quite a bit of functionality was added and one default function changed completely from a placeholder to an actual function (Q). Users who have heavily tweaked their lcdexec.conf file will probably want to manually merge in the new features. -- Please update LCDproc to 0.5.3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432669 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
