I was trying to install moodle-book and moodle-debian-edu-theme at the
same time. I'm still trying to figure out if these were properly
install or not. (Synaptic says they were)

When performing a fresh install, there is some configuration that must
be done from within moodle. The install script mentions this and I
performed it later without error. (You must go to
http://{yourserver}/moodle/admin when you first start to create an admin
user and populate the database tables.)

I suspect this error is because the ubuntu install script does not take
this into account but I have no way of being sure.
