As far as I know the lost+found folder is a system folder and, in my advise, any program that manipulates the user's files and/or folders should touch that folder. Anyway, if this is the policy of rsync developpers we have to conform with them. The --delete and --delete-excluded are not working properly, or may be I'm not understanding which is the proper way of work that he developpers decided for these options. I made some superficial tries and I've seen that the excluded or not excluded files are deleted in a weird way. So I will make some more tries and may be I'll open an appropriate bug for this.
