Public bug reported: Binary package hint: usplash
I am using usplash 0.5.44, kernel 31.14 and karmic. After upgrading, I got stuck after usplash with a blinking screen with an error message saying usplash failed to set the resolution and was falling back on 1024x768, which apparently didn't work because it didn't boot. So, I edited the configuration file /etc/usplash.conf to 1280x1024 (I have two of these screens attached via Twinview, using the proprietary nvidia drivers) and it booted fine. Also see this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8102996&posted=1#post8102996 I think usplash wrongly detects the resolution, a lot of people seem to be affected. I filed it against usplash, I hope it's the right package but the kernel was updated too so it could have something to do with that too. ** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Usplash wrongly detects monitor resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/451251 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
