Here is how to reproduce it on my Asus eeePC 1005HA-M with the 2.6.31-13
Karmic kernel:
Turn off the wifi with the shortcut 'Fn-F2'
Go to sleep mode ('Fn-F1')
Resume
Network-manager reports a deactivated wifi (which is correct, and you
can enable it again with 'Fn-F2'), but also a deactivated Ethernet which
you have no obvious way to activate again.
The workaround is actually to go back to sleep with the wifi enabled and
resume again, then everything is back to normal.
